During the 2017 season, Wolf Pack softball coach Josh Taylor had mental performance guru Tim Dixon speak to his team. Dixon opened his presentation by playing Andra Day’s song, “Rise Up.”
It was then when Nevada adopted the phrase "Rise Up" as an unofficial team motto, but when Dixon came back to speak with the team prior to this season, the players figured they’d take it a step further.
