LAS VEGAS – The Wolf Pack basketball team announced its presence at the Mountain West Tournament with authority Thursday afternoon by pounding Utah State, 83-69, in its quarterfinal game at Thomas & Mack Center.
Nevada scored the game’s first nine points and ended the half on a 25-9 spurt to take a 45-28 lead at intermission. And just like it has in every game this season in which it has led at intermission, the Wolf Pack sealed the victory in the second half, scoring a 14-point win after leading by as many as 21.
The Wolf Pack led wire-to-wire and was never challenged in the second half as Utah State never cut Nevada’s lead to single digits after half.
