Josh Hall and Marquez Letcher-Ellis committed to play for Rice within a 24-hour period in October 2014.
The close friends who played prep ball together at Genesis Academy in Virginia envisioned playing together in college, although that never materialized after Hall de-committed from Rice and signed with Nevada in 2015.
Three years later, they will get that chance. Letcher-Ellis, who announced last month he was transferring out of Rice, committed Tuesday to Nevada and became the first member of the Wolf Pack’s 2017 recruiting class.
“That had a big part to do with it,” Letcher-Ellis said of his bond with Hall, a key piece to Nevada’s NCAA Tournament team last year.
