Nevada into semifinals of club baseball World Series

Behind a strong pitching performance by Nick Trujillo and error-free defense, the Nevada Club baseball team defeated No. 1-ranked and previously unbeaten Pitt, 6-2, on Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the Club Baseball Division I World Series in Paducah, Ky.

Trujillo allowed two runs on six hits over eight innings while striking out nine against Pitt, which entered the game 33-0. Fifth-seeded Nevada knocked off Florida State in its previous game.

Nevada (22-4) broke a 2-2 tie when it tallied three runs in the eighth and one more in the ninth. The team had just five hits in the game but capitalized off nine walks and three hit batters.
