Nevada football's bye week marked by getting rest, hitting recruiting road

The Wolf Pack will use its bye week to heal some injuries, hit the recruiting road, get its young players live reps and try to refresh itself as it heads into the final third of the season.

For the second straight season, Nevada, which is 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the Mountain West, won’t be going to a bowl game, a 45-42 defeat last Friday to Air Force mathematically eliminating the Wolf Pack from reaching the six wins required to qualify for the postseason.

But, two traditionally big rivalry games – against Boise State on Nov. 4 and against UNLV to end the regular season – still loom.
