Nevada football: Three takeaways from Ken Wilson's return to the Wolf Pack

The Nevada football program signed its 27th head coach last week, with longtime Wolf Pack assistant Ken Wilson returning to Reno, but this time, as the man in charge.

Wilson and the university approved a five-year, $4.75 million contract that was signed Friday. Here’s the big takeaways from Wilson’s quick hire and his deal with the school, which made him the highest-paid football coach in the program’s history:

Nevada got its man

Wilson became the third straight Wolf Pack head coach to have been a career assistant, following Brian Polian and Jay Norvell.

Every coaching change is different, though, and the reasons for those three coaches getting offers from Nevada were all different, as well.
