LAS VEGAS – The Nevada basketball team has found itself in precarious situations several times throughout the season, but few were as frightening as the one presented Friday night by Fresno State.
Facing its mortality, with potentially a berth into the NCAA Tournament hanging in the balance, Nevada trailed by 11 points with only 20 minutes to play against a Fresno State team that had swept it this season.
A loss in this Mountain West Tournament semifinal matchup could have eliminated Nevada from NCAA Tournament contention, but the Wolf Pack still had 20 minutes remaining and it took full advantage.
