Despite winning its only game last week — by 40 points, no less — Nevada dropped one spot in the AP Top 25 college basketball poll released Monday.
The Wolf Pack (19-1 overall, 6-1 in Mountain West games) fell to No. 8 in the poll of media voters, switching places with Kentucky (16-3).
The top six teams, led by No. 1 Tennessee (18-1) remained the same from the week before. The Volunteers, who received 48 of the 64 first-place votes, were followed by Duke, Virginia, Gonzaga and Michigan.
Nevada remained at No. 7 in the USA Today coaches’ poll.
