A years-in-the-making goal to improve its men’s and women’s basketball facilities took a big step forward Tuesday night for the Nevada athletics department.

Wolf Pack athletic director Doug Knuth announced three major private donations Tuesday, which will provide a total of $8 million for a new locker room facility and other improvements. The lead gift is $4 million from Eric and Linda Lannes; another two $2 million donations were from donors who requested anonymity.

The $4 million gift is the largest single donation in Nevada athletics history.

“It’s just a really exciting time; $4 million (is) a transformational gift for the athletic program, and specifically for the men's and women's basketball program,” Knuth said.
