Nevada 91, EWU 76: Back in front of fans, Wolf Pack rolls to season-opening win

The Nevada basketball team welcomed its fans back to Lawlor Events Center in style Tuesday night, shooting better than 50 percent from the floor and eventually pulling away from Eastern Washington for a 91-76 win in the 2021-22 season-opener.

It was the first game at Lawlor with open fan attendance since Feb. 29, 2020 — a period of more than 600 days.

The Pack, which trailed 2-0 but never again, finished with a balanced scoring attack, led by 22 points from Desmond Cambridge Jr., who was 8-for-14 from the floor. Grant Sherfield and AJ Bramah each added 17 points.
