Nevada started the season in historic fashion and has now started Mountain West play in a similar vein.
The Wolf Pack, which opened the year 8-0, the best start in school history in its Division I era, has begun conference play 5-0 after an 83-57 win over Utah State before 9,976 fans Saturday night at Lawlor Events Center.
Those five straight wins to open conference play is the best start for Nevada since it moved to the MW in 2012.
Nevada (16-3, 5-0) used a pair of major runs – a 13-0 spurt and 17-0 landslide – in the first half to build a 50-26 halftime lead.
