Every Sunday, Reno Gazette-Journal sports columnist Chris Murray will count down a top-10 list. This week's list counts down his 10 best opposing players to play at Greater Nevada Field, formerly known as Aces Ballpark, which opened in 2009 in downtown Reno.
Almost every player on this list was an up-and-coming prospect. Ramirez was on the other side of his career, playing in Reno in 2014 with the Iowa Cubs, which marked the final season of his career. Ramirez was 3-of-9 in the four-game series with all six of his outs coming via strikeout. Ramirez, who was twice busted for performance-enhancing drugs, was a 12-time All-Star who had nine top-10 MVP finishes and won nine Silver Sluggers.
