Each week, RGJ sports writer Chris Murray will rank the Mountain West basketball teams. Here are this week’s rankings, with each team’s record and a comment. All records and rankings based on the games completed by Monday night.
1. Nevada
Rank last week: 1
Record: 20-4, 9-1 MW
Comment: Winners of nine of its last 10, the Wolf Pack plays its toughest back-to-back home games of the season, although it’s worth noting UNLV and SDSU are a combined 10-10 in MW play, so there’s quite a bit of mediocre there.
