The Wolf Pack football players who woke up at 5 a.m. for winter conditioning workouts in the snow, sweated through 100-degree practices in the summer and poured their hearts into the game with sparsely a day off over the last four months have had little reward this season, with just one win secured as they walked onto the field Saturday.
But, persistence typically pays off, and that was the case for the Wolf Pack against San Jose State as Nevada spanked the sparkless Spartans, 59-14, before 14,604 fans at Mackay Stadium, a long-awaited-for reward for those endless hours invested into a season that sank south weeks ago.
