Let’s play the hypothetical game. I’ll give you two options.
Option one: Nevada football can beat Boise State, but lose to UNLV.
Option two: Nevada football can lose to Boise State, but beat UNLV.
Which option would you take? I’m guessing you’d select option two. You want to keep that Fremont Cannon in Reno. You can't imagine it being red. You should pick option one, though.
Beating UNLV, which has historically been one of the nation’s worst football programs, isn’t much of an accomplishment. Beating Boise State, which Nevada has done only once since 1999, would be, in some ways, historic.
