Murray: Out of excuses, Pack needs to starting stringing wins

Entering this season, Wolf Pack football coach Brian Polian said his team was ready for the next level.

Unfortunately, through five games this season, that level has been backward.

Coming off one of its most disappointing performances in recent years, a 38-17 loss at Hawaii in which Nevada trailed by 35 entering the fourth quarter, Polian said he disappointed, frustrated, angry and that the team was in need of self-examination, starting with him and leading potentially to personnel changes.

That’s not the kind of feeling you want more than 40 percent of the way into a season that was billed as the year the Wolf Pack would break the seven-win barrier.
