Murray: Offense the chief culprit in Pack's historically poor start

FRESNO, Calif. – It’s never been easier to score points in college football, with 2016 marking the highest- per-game scoring total in the sports’ history, breaking the record set in 2015, which broke the record set in 2012. You get the drift. Each season, offenses get a little more explosive, the mark is set a little higher.

But, so far this year, the Wolf Pack’s offense has bucked the trend and been defined by a mixture of inefficiency and inconsistency and ultimately frustration – from the players, the coaches and the fans.

The latest example came Saturday in a 42-21 loss at Fresno State in a game that wasn’t as competitive as the final score showed.
