Renowned ring announcer Michael Buffer will announce the starting lineups for Nevada's game against rival UNLV on Wednesday night at Lawlor Events Center.
Known for his trademarked “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” catchphrase, Buffer has one of the most recognizable voices in sports. He gained fame for his introductions at championship boxing events for the last 35 years, many coming in Las Vegas. He has branched out to other sports and was the announcer for Kentucky's Big Blue Madness in November.
“The rivalry between Nevada and UNLV has been growing to the point where it is befitting to have Michael Buffer, a voice synonymous with major sporting events in Nevada, to be part of that history,” Wolf Pack athletic director Doug Knuth said in a news release.
