The newly renovated Mackay Stadium will celebrate its 50th anniversary this season. We will count down the 50 most memorable games in the stadium's history with one game per day until the Wolf Pack's 2016 season opener Sept. 2 against Cal Poly. Here is today's entry.
Headline: Neill sets Pack passing record, comeback falls short
Key stat: 611 - Nevada's David Neill threw for a Mackay Stadium record 611 yards, which also set an NCAA mark for freshmen. He completed 30-of-57 passes with five touchdowns and four interceptions.
