The newly renovated Mackay Stadium will celebrate its 50th anniversary this season. We will count down the 50 most memorable games in the stadium's history with one game per day until the Wolf Pack's 2016 season opener Sept. 2 against Cal Poly. Here is today's entry.
Key stat: 35 - Nevada had 35 first downs to Northern Illinois' 13 first downs but the Huskies somehow pulled out the victory despite being outgained by 113 yards and possessing the ball 13 minutes less.
In short: This was Northern Illinois' first game in the Big West and it was a memorable one.
