For the second straight season, the Wolf Pack was pushed to the brink by an FCS team.
Unlike last season, when Nevada outlasted Cal Poly, 30-27 in overtime, the Wolf Pack was unable to dodge the upset bid, falling 30-28 to Idaho State before 16,394 fans Saturday at Mackay Stadium.
The Wolf Pack, which never held a lead, trailed by as many as 23 points before a late rally pushed the game within a single play that Nevada was unable to make.
After falling behind 30-7, the Wolf Pack scored three straight touchdowns, the last coming when Kaymen Cureton hit Wyatt Demps on a 2-yard scoring pass with 58 seconds remaining to give Nevada a shot at the tie.
