When Wolf Pack offensive linemen Austin Corbett first steps foot on Wolf Pack Park to begin practice, he's a bona fide 300-pounder. When Corbett exits the field about 2½ hours later, he’s usually back in the 200s.
With record-setting heat roasting Reno this week and coinciding with the start of Nevada fall camp, keeping weight on during the August practice sessions is one of the players' hidden challenges, especially for Nevada’s linemen.
So, just how much weight can a player lose during just one practice?
“I’ve lost up to 12 pounds at a practice, but it’s just pure water weight at that point,” Corbett said.
