USA Today released its annual NCAA head football coach database Wednesday and, as you might expect, the price tag for coaches continues to skyrocket.
Per USA Today's research, one head football coach made at least $3 million in 2006. That figure rose to nine in 2011. And this season, 36 coaches make at least $3 million annually, with Michigan's Jim Harbaugh leading the way at more than $9 million this season. (It's worth noting players still aren't getting paid.)
Coaches in the Mountain West are nowhere near those numbers. In fact, the league's highest-paid coach, Fresno State's Tim DeRuyter, was fired last week and is owed a $3.
