During his head coaching career, Steve Alford has taken teams to the NCAA Tournament 11 times.
Now, he'll try to guide the Nevada men's basketball team there. He was named the Wolf Pack head coach on Thursday.
He went once with Southwest Missouri State, three times at Iowa, three times at New Mexico and four times at UCLA. The furthest he has taken a team is the Sweet 16, and he has done that four times (1999, 2014, 2015, 2017).
Alford's most memorable NCAA Tournament success came as a player, when he helped Indiana win the 1987 NCAA title.
