Grades from Nevada’s 38-37 win over Utah State on Saturday.
Offense
B- — The numbers aren’t great. Nevada averaged just 4.3 yards per carry on 50 rushing attempts and Ty Gangi completed only 13-of-26 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. The Wolf Pack’s 4.4 yards per play was below its season average (5.4). But, the unit came up big on the final possession of the game, going 51 yards for the game-winning score when Gangi raced in from 6 yards out on fourth-and-goal with 5 seconds left. Given the howling wind, the Wolf Pack was forced to keep things on the ground and struggled there for most of the night, but James Butler (171 total yards) played huge and helped carry the offense, which made the big plays in the biggest moments, which gives it a bump on the overall grade.
