George Brett has faith the baseball season will be held as usual.
He said the MLB owners and players are jockeying for position now and that he thinks they will come to an agreement before spring training is scheduled to start in February.
Brett was the featured speaker at the 37th annual Bobby Dolan baseball dinner Thursday at the Reno Ballroom, the annual fundraiser for the Wolf Pack baseball team.
He recalled the season being in jeopardy when he was a player and being locked out, but said he doesn't remember the reason why.
"As a player, I just wanted to play," Brett said.
