Nevada quarterback Carson Strong completed a school-record 49 passes. His favorite target, receiver Romeo Doubs, tied the program record for receptions. The Wolf Pack converted on half its third downs and averaged more than 6 yards per play.

In the end, though, the Pack came up one play short.

Fresno State denied Nevada on a two-point pass attempt with 2 seconds left to play to hold on for a 34-32 win Saturday at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs improved to 6-2 overall and leap-frogged Nevada in the West standings at 3-1. The Pack had a three-game winning streak come to an end and fell to 5-2 (2-1) and into third place in the West.
