For Nevada basketball fans, the long wait is almost over.
The Wolf Pack began full-time practice Friday and did so with lofty expectations after winning 24 games and capturing the College Basketball Invitation last season, the first postseason tournament title in Mountain West and school history.
Coach Eric Musselman enters this season with a more talented roster but one that is still fairly thin on depth. Here’s Nevada’s 2016-17 preseason outlook as it looks to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006-07, a season that capped four straight appearances in the Big Dance.
High expectations
The Wolf Pack was picked to finish ninth in last season’s MW preseason poll, which it overachieved by finishing tied for fourth.
