Perhaps this is a sign of the state of the Nevada and Fresno State football teams, but a water line that runs under the southeast section of Bulldog Stadium burst Sunday morning, doing significant damage to the field, where the Wolf Pack and Bulldogs will open their Mountain West schedules Saturday night.
The burst isn’t expected to affect the game this weekend, but mud did flow down a ramp and onto the playing surface, damaging the south end zone. Fresno State was already raising funds to renovate the 37-year-old stadium, with an estimated price tag up to $60 million.
