Nevada forced its first punt since the first quarter after a holding call and sack by Jordan Silva put Wyoming behind the chains. The Wolf Pack moved into the red zone but a chop block led to a 37-yard field goal attempt, which Pettit pulled left to allow Wyoming to hold its 35-27 lead with 7:34 remaining. The Cowboys went back up by two touchdowns on the series, a nine-play, 80-yard drive that Allen capped with a 7-yard touchdown run to make it 42-27. Nevada tacked on a late touchdown as Butler fumbled into the end zone and recovered it himself to make it 42-34.
