Final: Nevada 27, Fresno State 22

Third quarter

On the first second-half possession, Fresno State moved inside the Wolf Pack 40 but a dropped pass was followed by a dropped snap and led to a punt. After a Nevada punt, the Bulldogs pulled off a fake punt on fourth-and-7 at midfield and after a great 33-yard catch by KeeSean Johnson, Fresno State scored on fourth-and-goal from the 1 when Virgil's pass tipped off Elijah Mitchell's fingers and into paws of Jared Rice to cut the Nevada lead to 21-13. Fresno State then came up with another big play, forcing Nevada’s first fumble of the season when James Butler coughed it up and the Bulldogs recovered on the Nevada 43.
