Following an incident with University Police Services that left a police officer on administrative leave, former Nevada football player Kevin McReynolds is starting a non-profit whose goal is to improve diversity in local police forces.

The McReynolds Project aims to work toward positive change in police-community relations and add diverse individuals and ideas to local police departments.

McReynolds, who was a defensive tackle for UCLA from 2011-14 and Nevada in 2015, said his charity will create scholarships, host community engagement events and partner with local law enforcement agencies.
