Former McQueen High star Kyle Van Noy has been traded from Detroit to New England, according to a report by ESPN.
After a standout career at BYU, Van Noy is in his third season in the NFL. He's been a starter for the Lions since week two this year and has a career-high 23 tackles.
The 26-year-old was a second-round pick by Detroit in the 2014 draft, going 40th overall, but he struggled early to find a role after hernia surgery delayed his pro debut.
Van Noy had six tackles in eight games as a rookie, 10 tackles in 15 games last season and moved into a starting role after a series of injuries to the Lions' linebacker corps this year.
