Dischon Thomas, a multi-dimensional 6-foot-9 forward from Phoenix, won’t be able to sign an official letter of intent for more than a calendar year, but that didn’t stop him from making his decision early.

Thomas, an under-the-radar prospect who pledged Saturday to the Wolf Pack, didn’t want to play out the process hoping for bigger and better offers to potentially emerge, as most recruits do. He went on unofficial visits to Princeton, Kennesaw State and finally Nevada – last weekend – before making his decision.

“I’ve always wanted to commit early so I can just go in and play and get comfortable, and a lot of pressure is off my back now that I’m committed,” Thomas told the RGJ.
