Charpie allows one hit, Pack beats SDSU

Junior Trevor Charpie tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout to lead Nevada past San Diego State, 5-0, on Saturday in San Diego.

It was Nevada’s first shutout of the season.

Combined with Friday’s 8-5 win, the Wolf Pack clinched a series victory.

A 6-foot-1 right-hander, Charpie allowed five base runners, two walks and two hit by pitch.

Charpie improved to 4-3 on the season while lowering his ERA to 4.04 with his second complete game of the year.

The Pack (22-20, 12-8 MW) opened a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. Junior Trenton Brooks hit an RBI single to center field, scoring junior Justin Bridgman from second base.
