Taking a line drive off his face led Casey Burfield to consider quitting baseball.
Instead, he took a few months off, and now — two years after that horrific incident — one of his dreams will come true.
Burfield, a Reed High graduate (2020), recovered from the brutal injury and had a standout season at Feather River College last spring. He will be on scholarship to pitch for the Nevada Wolf Pack baseball team for the upcoming 2022 season.
"I love that I get to play where it's easy for my family to come watch," Burfield said.
