Boise State 31, Nevada 27: Pack closes gap on Broncos, but no 'W'

Nevada isn’t interested in moral victories, but a four-point loss to the defending Mountain West champion – a game that appeared to be a coin-toss for more than three-and-a-half quarters -- shows definite progress has been made in head coach Jay Norvell’s second season.

The Wolf Pack went down to the wire Saturday night with rival Boise State, but came up one possession short in a 31-27 loss in front of 21,431 at Mackay Stadium.

For the Broncos (4-2 overall, 2-1 Mountain West) it was the sixth straight win in the series and the 15th in the teams’ last 16 games.
