A body pulled out of Lake Tahoe on Monday has been identified as Marc Ma, the Wolf Pack football player who drowned while paddle boarding last summer.
Placer County Sgt. Dave Hunt said the positive identification came Wednesday night.
“They did identify the body and it is Marc Ma," Hunt said. "They identified it via dental records.”
Ma went paddle boarding on June 10, 2016, with a group of friends from the university. Winds picked up on the lake shortly after the group entered the water creating waves from 3 to 5 feet. His friends were rescued by a boat crew from a nearby marina, but Ma, who was a strong swimmer but was not wearing a personal flotation device, was never again seen.
