Nevada football coach Jay Norvell gave his second-stringers a three-touchdown advantage over the first string at the start of the Wolf Pack's annual Silver & Blue Game at Mackay Stadium.
It wasn’t nearly enough.
In fact, the Blue team (first string) gave the Silver team (second string) an even larger head start as the second-stringers scored the first touchdown of the afternoon to take a 28-0 lead. But it was all Blue after that, as the first string ripped off 49 unanswered points to close the 60-minute game with a 49-28 victory that saw a number of standouts.
