Whether Nevada wins or loses its season opener at Northwestern, it will get a financial windfall.
Simply by playing the game Saturday, the Wolf Pack will get a $1.3 million paycheck, the second largest in school history for a single game. The record of $1.5 million was earned in 2015 when Nevada played at Texas A&M.
In all, Nevada’s entire 2017 non-conference schedule will be lucrative. The Wolf Pack will net $925,000 from its four games. The non-league contests include payouts of $1.3 million at Northwestern and $300,000 to play at Washington State, from the Pac-12.
