13 games that defined the Nevada basketball season
Every season has flashpoints, certain games that stand out as defining moments in the year, and Nevada's 2016-17 season, one of the best in program history, certainly had its share of those. Here is a look at the 13 games that defined the Wolf Pack's season, which ended Thursday with a first-round NCAA Tournament loss to Iowa State at the Bradley Center.
In short: The Wolf Pack opened the season with a marquee game at No. 17-ranked Saint Mary's and was blitzed. The Gaels' surprise starter at center, Jock Landale, scored 33 points on 10-of-15 shooting, and grabbed nine rebounds as Saint Mary's out-scored Nevada, 56-20, in the paint and handed the Wolf Pack what would be its most lopsided loss of the season.
