* THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS are pushing their chips to the middle of the table for the 2018 season. The team recently traded some decent prospects from its beleaguered farm system to land third baseman Evan Longoria and outfielder Andrew McCutchen. Had these trades happened five years ago when both players were MVP-caliber producers that would have been great.
