Freshman forward Jessica Shepard scored 20 points and sophomore guard Natalie Romeo had 19 to lead the Nebraska women’s basketball team to an 87-69 victory against Penn State on Tuesday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Senior point guard Rachel Theriot helped the Huskers get a lot of easy baskets in the second half with nice passes. She had 14 assists, to go along with nine points.
Nebraska (16-6, 7-4) has won seven of its past eight games to move into the top half of the Big Ten standings with seven games before the Big Ten Tournament.
Romeo finished 5-of-10 on three-pointers.
