Volleyball notebook: Cook knew he'd have to have patience to start season

Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook knew he would have to be patient to start this season, and that was even before the Huskers started the season without one of its best players, All-American setter Kelly Hunter.

The senior night match in 2016 night was a good sign that patience would be needed, when the Huskers honored four seniors, including three three-year starters in Kadie and Amber Rolfzen and Justine Wong-Orantes.

So Cook wasn’t too dissapointed in the aftermath of the Huskers’ opening weekend of the season. The Huskers lost both matches, a four-set match against Oregon, and a five-set match against Florida.
