Versatile Georgia DB Newsome chooses Huskers over SEC suitors

As Nebraska’s 2019 recruiting class has grown steadily over the past several weeks, multiple positions of need were addressed.

Matthew Anderson (Leesville, Louisiana) and Michael Lynn (Englewood, Colorado) add to young but rather thin group of tackles. Tony Fair (Pima Community College) is a big defensive tackle who could factor in the equation quickly. Nick Henrich (Omaha Burke) is not only local, but the Huskers need young talent at inside linebacker.

But Nebraska hadn’t yet found their first verbal pledge in the secondary for the current recruiting cycle.

Quinton Newsome, a defensive back from Suwanee, Georgia, pledged to Nebraska on Monday after visiting campus recently with his parents.
