Verge Turns in Strong Effort at PIT

Alonzo Verge wrapped up a strong effort at the Portsmouth Invitational this week. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 11.3 points on 50 percent shooting along with 7.0 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in helping his team post a 3-0 week.

Verge, who ranked second among players in assists, had 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting in the championship game, while also dishing out seven assists and four steals. It was one of two double-figure efforts for Verge in Portsmouth, as he had 12 points, seven assists and three steals in his first contest.

Verge started 31 games for the Huskers in the 2021-22 season after transferring from Arizona State, averaging 14.
