Valentine decides to forgo senior season

Vincent Valentine has played his final football game for Nebraska.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound defensive tackle announced Monday on Twitter he has decided to forgo his senior season and enter the April 28-30 NFL Draft.

"Playing in the NFL has been a lifelong dream & and I am so grateful for the opportunity," wrote the native of Edwardsville, Illinois.

Valentine was limited to 10 tackles this season in part because he missed ample time with injuries. As a sophomore in 2014, he had 45 tackles, including seven for losses and three sacks.

Last month, Valentine submitted his name to the NFL Draft Advisory Board, which provides underclassmen with feedback as to their draft status: first round, second round or neither.
