Urness provides senior moment, Badgers take series opener

Austen Urness provided the senior moment on senior weekend for the Nebraska softball team.

NU coach Rhonda Revelle inserted Urness, who tore her ACL last fall, into the starting lineup for the first time this season, and in her first at-bat, the Lake Elsinore, California, native drove an RBI double to the right-center wall.

The Huskers, however, were unable to plate anymore runs, and Wisconsin (23-19, 7-8 Big Ten) took the series opener 6-1 Friday at Bowlin Stadium.

Wisconsin's Taylor Johnson hit a three-run homer into the wind to break a 1-1 tie in the third inning.
