You will see two Huskers taking the field when the new NWSL season is underway.
Forward Jaycie Johnson was the 27th pick selected by the North Carolina Courage, which is the newest franchise in the NWSL career. In her time as a Husker, the Lake Winnebago, Missouri native compiled 42 goals (including 17 game-winning goals!) and 8 assists in 67 games as a Husker. Johnson also led the team in goals during 2013, 2014 and 2016 seasons and played a big part in Nebraska's 2013 season when they took the Big Ten title.
Midfielder Caroline Flynn was the 40th pick selected by the Portland Thorns who won the NWSL in the league's debut season.
