Brett Sears was unsurprisingly named Big Ten Pitcher of the Year for 2024. It is easy to see why. He was the only full time starting pitcher who finished the regular season undefeated at 8-0 and he also led the conference in numerous categories.

Sears brought back the feeling Husker fans used to get showing up to Haymarket Park on a Friday night. They knew the other team was going to get completely shut down and just wanted see how many strikeouts Sears could pile up and if he would hold the team completely scoreless when he exited.
